The War for American Independence: The Battles of Lexington and Concord

Thank you to all who attended our presentation last night! As I mentioned in my comments, I probably went overboard in terms of detail, but hopefully you came away from the talk knowing a little more about the battles that initiated the birth of our country.

I have attached several items below. First, here are the books I recommended on the Revolution in general, and on the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill.

Below is a link to download a PDF file (AmRevLex) with the text, pictures, and maps of the talk. I had to skip through quite a bit of it last night, so for those of you that want ALL the details, here they are.

Also below are two articles on the Colonial militia in 1775, and a chapter from Stephen Conway's book that does a good job of outlining the background to the Revolution.

Hope to see you in October to discuss the Siege of Boston and the Battle of Bunker Hill!
