The American Revolutionary War: The Siege of Boston and the Battle of Bunker Hill

Thank you to all who attended or presentation last night! The Battle of Bunker Hill, while having great name recognition, is not necessarily well understood. Hopefully we went a little way toward rectifying that for you last night.

Below is a link to our presentation ("BunkerHillPreso"). There are also links to the chapter on Bunker Hill in Willard Wallace's excellent history of the Revolutionary War, Appeal to Arms ("Wallace_Bunker Hill"); to an article on the formation of the American Army of Observation from The Journal of the American Revolution ("The Army of Observation Forms"); to the US Army's recent booklet on the opening battles of the Revolution ("Opening Shots in the Colonies"); to an article delving into the use of the expression "Don't Fire Until You See the Whites of Their Eyes" ("TheWhitesofTheirEyes"); and finally to an excellent article by Bernhard Knollenberg on the difficulties of determining the facts about Bunker Hill ("MHS_Bunker Hill Revisited"). Enjoy!

We plan on having our next presentation in early December, and will firm up the date shortly.

Thanks again for your support of the Civil (and now Revolutionary) War Museum of Delafield!
